True and CONNEXT ED Foundation Promote Digital Education by Donating Laptops to the Ministry of Education to Enhance Learning Opportunities for Vulnerable Youth in OBEC Schools
The Ministry of Education, led by Education Minister Pol. Gen. Permpoon Chidchob, received a donation of 46 ready-to-use laptops from True Corporation and the CONNEXT ED Foundation. These laptops were presented to Setsatian School for the Deaf under the Royal Patronage of HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, which educates students with hearing impairments. Dr. Naetchanok Wipatasinlapin, Head of Strategy Division and Education of True Corporation Plc. / Director and Secretary of CONNEXT ED Foundation represented the organizations in handing over the laptops. Present at the event were Lt. Col. Tanu Wongjinda, Secretary-General of the Office of the Basic Education Commission (OBEC), Mrs. Phattharayawan Phannoiy, Director of the Special Education Bureau, Dr. Panadda Wongchanta, Principal of Setsatian School for the Deaf under the Royal Patronage, along with teachers and students. True Corporation and CONNEXT ED Foundation also plan to donate an additional 100 refurbished laptops to OBEC to distribute to under-resourced schools nationwide, expanding student access to digital resources. This initiative will empower students to maximize technology for learning, fostering lifelong learning skills.

Permpoon Chidchob, Minister of Education said, “The Ministry of Education is committed to implementing the government’s ‘Quality Learning, Happiness’ policy, supporting learning anytime, anywhere, building a lifelong learning society, and reducing educational inequality. Quality learning tools, especially through digital technology, foster sustainable learning environments for students. We are pleased that Setsatian School for the Deaf under the Royal Patronage, dedicated to students with hearing impairments, has received this valuable support. The Ministry, in collaboration with the private sector and Chulalongkorn University, has already provided ICT learning tools for junior high school students, but upper high school students still have a pressing need. True Corporation and CONNEXT ED Foundation’s donation of refurbished laptops will enhance the education of upper high school students, ultimately raising educational standards. Besides Setsatian School for the Deaf under the Royal Patronage, plans are in place to expand support to 20 similar schools, ensuring this collaboration significantly benefits Thai children’s education.”
