Huawei Thailand Announces Winners of the 2024 Seeds for the Future Program
Huawei Thailand proudly announces the eight winners of the 2024 Seeds for the Future Program, a globally recognized CSR flagship initiative dedicated to developing skilled ICT talent and fostering cross-cultural communication.
The program’s closing ceremony, held in Chonburi, marked a significant milestone in Huawei’s commitment to nurturing digital talent and empowering the next generation of leaders in Thailand. This year marks the first time that Huawei Thailand has organized an off-site training camp. Not only did the camp provide knowledge on digital skills, but it also simulated real scenarios for the Tech4Good competition that participants will encounter at the regional level in China, enhancing their strategic planning capabilities. Additionally, the camp allowed for an assessment of participants’ personalities and attitudes toward social interaction in a larger community.
The event showcased the talents of 16 university students, shortlisted from a competitive pool of 63 participants. These students demonstrated exceptional ICT skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for technological innovation during the 1-day training in Huawei Thailand Head Office and 2-day Seeds Boot Camp activities in Chonburi. This year’s program also featured the “Tech4Good” campaign, which encouraged participants to develop technology-driven solutions to address social and environmental challenges.
The eight winners are Mr. Suphapol Wongsawat from Mae Fah Luang University, Miss Tawanrat Piriyalertsak from Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology, Thammasat University, Mr. Yosawat Udomsakpaibool and Miss Nichapa Leesakul from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, and Mr. Pantuch Sungkaew, Miss Kammaporn Kangwalwattanasiri, Mr. Athinan Tangchiamsri, and Miss Thitirat Charoensawan from Chiang Mai University’s International College of Digital Innovation. They will represent the Seeds of Thailand to compete in a regional competition round in China during 22-27 September 2024. Apart from the competition, they will also gain firsthand experience with cutting-edge technology and engage in valuable cross-cultural exchanges.
Edison Xu, Executive Director of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd, commented, “We are immensely proud of these young innovators. Their passion and dedication are the driving forces behind Thailand’s digital future. Huawei remains committed to supporting the growth of ICT talent and contributing to the country’s digital transformation journey.”
Tachnawat Piriyatanapat, Team Leader – Start Up Institute, Digital Economy Promotion agency (Depa) and one of the program’s judges, highlighted the impact of Huawei’s Seeds for the Future Program on Thailand’s digital talent development. “These young innovators are key to driving our nation’s digital transformation and ensuring Thailand’s competitiveness in the global digital economy. The Seeds for the Future 2024 Program is an excellent initiative by Huawei. This year’s program has intensified its focus on training in business strategy planning skills, enabling participants to further develop their projects and explore new opportunities for skill enhancement.”
Miss Nichapa Leesakul, one of the eight winners from King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, shared that the Seeds for the Future program 2024 provided her with valuable insights into cloud technology, 5G, IoT, and AI. Her team developed the Smart Rescue program, designed to assist rescue personnel in quickly screening and categorizing emergency patients. This program aims to help prioritize patients and ensure they receive appropriate treatments more efficiently.
“Our team didn’t create a new technology but rather integrated existing ones to improve emergency care. We hope our concept will be put into practice in the future,” she said.
Mr. Pantuch Sungkaew, another winner from Chiang Mai University’s International College of Digital Innovation, mentioned that the program provided him with valuable knowledge and insights into his strengths and weaknesses. This experience is set to enhance his digital skills and knowledge, benefiting his participation in a regional competition in China and his studies. His team developed a raw material container that monitors expiry dates and sends real-time alerts to a smartphone.
