Krungthai Panich Insurance continues “Kao Tee Prom…for Future of Thai Children” project for 7th year
Krungthai Panich Insurance Public Company Limited or KPI, a non-life insurance company affiliated to Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to improving education across Thailand by funding the establishment of “Hong Samut Mee Chewit” (the Living Library) at Chumchon Ban Hua Wua (Rat-Uthit) School in Buriram province. This is the eighth school to benefit from donations from the “KPI Kao Tee Prom…for Future of Thai Children” project that began 7 years ago. The project introduces libraries to remote areas around Thailand to boost learning opportunities for children by providing access to books and tools that can improve their skills and knowledge.
“KPI Kao Tee Prom…for Future of Thai Children” was established in 2013 with a purpose of creating better learning opportunities for students in remote areas. Boosting education for young people in the community is an important goal for KPI, as we prepare Thai youth for the future and help them reach their potential that can support the sustainable development of the nation.”
Dr. Pongpanu Damrongsiri, President of Krungthai Panich Insurance Public Company Limited said that “For 67 years KPI has evolved with our customers, creating new products and services to meet changing needs. Enhancing Thai society is key objective for us as we strive to empower society sustainably and with stability. In addition to supporting education initiatives, KPI also supports other charitable projects including disaster and relief programmes. At the same time, we aim to build better understanding among our employees and ensure they share the same values of sharing and caring for others. As a result, we established Kao Tee Prom to enhance the quality of life for Thai people.”
The Living Library is KPI’s CSR project that develops libraries in remote upcountry schools across Thailand that currently lack good quality learning centers or libraries in the local school. In addition to providing books, the Living Library also includes multimedia and computer resources so that children can explore the digital world, and provide them with equal access to high-standard learning resources.
The library at Chumchon Ban Hua Wua (Rat-Uthit) School in Muaeng district, Buriram, has been renovated as part of KPI’s “Kao Tee Prom…for Future of Thai Children” project. The project has provided financial support to source 400,000 baht worth of books and other educational materials, and 51 students have received scholarships worth a total of 153,000 baht.
“KPI focuses on all aspects of sustainability and good quality education is key to the success of Thai society”, Dr. Pongpanu concluded.
