Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific donates 1.4 million baht to 160 needy Thai students through EDF foundation

Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd, in collaboration with EDF (Education for Development Foundation), provided 1,400,000 baht (one million and four hundred thousand baht) to 160 needy Thai students in Chachoengsao province as part of its fourth year of consecutive educational support. The company also made available 15 sets of laptops and IT devices to vocational scholars who need it.

Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd is an international non-profit organization founded in Hong Kong in 2019, supporting projects in the fields of education, sanitation & hygiene (WASH), water and emergency relief in countries where Knorr-Bremse operates.

According to Mr Martyn Perkins, executive director of Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd, “This is our fourth consecutive year providing scholarships to 80 junior high-school and 80 technical college-level students in Chachoengsao province, where our subsidiary company, Knorr-Bremse Commercial Vehicle Systems (Thailand) Ltd, operates. This is also our second year allocating 15 sets of laptops and IT devices worth 216,050 baht to scholarship recipients who need them.

“We hope that our scholarship funds will help all scholar recipients put emphasis on their education for the betterment of their future. We also encourage them to work on their English skills and practice on a daily basis to widen their future opportunities,” he said.

Mr Sunphet Nilrat, managing director of EDF foundation, added, “EDF is a non-profit organization focusing on needy Thai students’ education. We also cooperate with organizations to develop and implement their Corporate Social Responsibility projects in schools and communities. We are pleased to work with Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd that for four years now, which shares a common philosophy with us, that is, to support education.”
