The University of Phayao recently hosted the 3rd Traveling Council Activities for media networks and community leaders at Ban Mar Ka Thok Wak in Phayao Province.
The third annual Traveling Coffee Council event provided an opportunity for administrators and personnel from the University of Phayao to connect with community leaders in Mae Ka Subdistrict and media representatives from Phayao Province. This gathering served as a platform for exchanging knowledge, promoting awareness, and building positive relationships with the external community. By doing so, the university aimed to improve its public relations and corporate communications efforts, ultimately leading to greater success and efficiency.
On June 25th, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, chaired an event at Bamphenbun Building, Wat Mae Ka Thok Wak, Mae Ka Subdistrict, Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province. The event was attended by the executive team and personnel of the University of Phayao, as well as members of the media network and community leaders. The event was honored by the presence of Phrakhru Achawaphimon, Abbot of Wat Mae Ka Thok Wak, Phrakhru Palat Somboon Punnasiri, Abbot of Wat Mo Kaeng Thong, Phrakhru Phisitsorakarn, Advisor to the clergy at Wat Pa Phra Ubali, Mr. Pariyat Suwan, Mae Ka Subdistrict Headman and Community Leader Representative, Mrs. Puangphet Pochanathani, Deputy Mayor of Mae Ka Subdistrict, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Somboon Naebklang, Inspector (Prevention and Crime Suppression) at Mae Ka Provincial Police Station, Phayao Province.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Somboon Naebklang discussed the collaboration and support for community operations with the University of Phayao. This event provided an excellent opportunity for the university to present their implementation plan for the “1 Faculty 1 Innovation Community Project” for the fiscal year 2024 in the Mae Ka Subdistrict area of Mueang Phayao District, Phayao Province. Dr. Wittawas Sajjapong, a professor from the School of Medical Sciences and Project Leader for Village No. 17, Ban Mae Ka Thok Wak, shared their work on developing seasoning powder products from local plants. This project aims to reduce the risk of high blood pressure among the elderly and create additional job opportunities using local resources. Community products from Village No. 4, Ban Thok Wak, and Village No. 17, Ban Mae Ka Thok Wak were also distributed during the event. The University of Phayao has been actively involved in collaborating with the community for development efforts.
During this event, the executive of the University of Phayao not only met with community leaders in Mae Ka district and media from Phayao province, but also highlighted the significance of the 1 Faculty 1 Innovation Community Project for the fiscal year 2024. This project aims to foster communities equipped with knowledge, technology, and innovation, and seeks to establish collaborations for human resource development across various dimensions to enhance community quality of life. This includes social well-being, income, health, environment, education, and societal aspects. These efforts align with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aim to achieve sustainable improvements in quality of life and well-being.
