“Welcoming Fah Mui Chor No. 14” to the University of Phayao.
On June 4, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Supakorn Pongbangpho, President of the University of Phayao, welcomed “Fah Mui Chor No. 14” and delivered a speech about the university’s dedication to providing high-quality education that equips students with the necessary competencies and skills for the future. She introduced the administrators and deans of each faculty and college in room UB 003, located in the 99th Anniversary Building, Phra Upali Kunupamajarn. The speech was broadcasted live via Zoom to various classroom buildings within the University of Phayao.
Assistant Professor Dr. Chonthida Thephinlap, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Wuthichai Chairinkam, Vice President for Student Quality, were also present during the discussion. They focused on the topic of “Learning of Modern Students and Life at the University of Phayao” and introduced various departments that are relevant to student studies and university life. These included the Division of Educational Services, the Division of Student Quality Development and Students with Disabilities, and the Division of Student Affairs. Additionally, the student leaders for the year 2024 were introduced, including the President of the University of Phayao Student Union, the President of the University of Phayao Student Council, the President of Saha Weang, and the President of the Student Inspector.
Later, the Language Center and School of Liberal Arts introduced the “Neo+ system” as an English proficiency test. Representatives from the alumni and current student body organized activities to promote a healthy study-life balance. In the academic year 2024, a total of 5,200 first-year students participated in these activities. Following the presentation, the president, along with administrators and deans, visited each building where the activities were held to boost morale and encourage the new students.
The University of Phayao is planning a project to equip first-year students with the necessary academic and university life skills for the academic year 2024. The project, titled “Welcoming Fa Mui Chor No. 14,” aims to assist first-year students in developing essential life skills, adapting to the academic environment, and becoming familiar with the different departments and locations within the university. Additionally, the project aims to foster positive relationships among students, administrators, faculty, and peers at the University of Phayao, in preparation for the start of the academic year 2024.
