ICT at UP, Professor Thanawat Sae-iab, Chairman of the Bachelor of Science Program in the Department of Computer Science has received three prestigious international awards at the International Invention Competition IPITEx 2024
These awards include the Gold Prize, Special Prize from Romania, and Gold Medal for his invention, the “TongPaBad V2 Badminton Shuttlecock Launcher”. This invention was showcased at the “2024 Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation and Technology Exposition” (IPITEx 2024) as part of the event “Inventors’ Day 2024 Thailand Inventors’ Day 2024”, which took place from 2nd to 6th February 2024 at Event Hall 100-102: Bi-Tech Bangna, Bangkok International & Exhibition Centre.
The “TongPaBad V2 Badminton Shuttlecock Launcher” is an innovative invention designed for practicing badminton. It has received a petty patent for its first model and the invention patent for its second model has been completed. The third-generation invention is currently in the process of being patented.
This invention will be showcased at Inventors Day, an exhibition featuring over 1000 inventions and innovative works. The exhibition is divided into two sections: the “Father of Thai Invention” exhibition and the Exhibition in Honor of His Majesty the King/National Research Award Exhibition/Invention and Innovation Exhibition from various agencies in Thailand and abroad. Additionally, there will be an international invention competition, IPITEx 2024, and a youth invention competition exhibition, Thailand New Gen Inventors Award 2024: I-New Gen Award 2024. Some of the highlighted exhibitions include Youth Power driving Soft Power, The Survival Game dealing with disasters, Aerokids, and Drone inventor.
