Mahidol Engineering ‘s Chemical Engineering Dept. to grant 20 fellowships . Student applications opens now until May 16, 2023
Chemical Engineering is one of the world’s hottest professions, answering the needs of disruptive and fast-growing industries. The Faculty of Engineering, Mahidol University, the first Thai academic organization endorsed by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), offers two Master of Engineering degrees and a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering and Integrated Chemical Engineering. The programs also offer 20 student fellowships to assist the next generation of Thai and International Chemical Engineers in supporting of ASEAN industrial markets. The programs are open for student applications from now to May 16, 2023.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanida Koo-amornpattana, Mahidol Engineering’s Department of Chemical Engineering Chair, says the Chemical Engineering profession is currently in demand for the fast-growing new Thai S-curve industries that involve smart electronic devices, future automotive development, health tourism, food processing, and other major areas. A Chemical Engineer can contribute to industrial process development, innovation, and multidisciplinary research management. The graduates will be qualified to work as Chemical Engineers, researchers, production engineers, process engineers and sales engineers in petroleum, petrochemical, renewable energy industries and startup companies.
The programs were designed following the philosophy of Mahidol University to create an outcome-based curriculum focused on student improvement and life-long learning skills. Students will learn to apply engineering and science knowledge to challenging real-world problems, tackling industrial issues and creating value-added products. Current research topics include the bio-circular-green economy, advanced materials, nanotechnology, health care, artificial intelligence, process simulation and molecular modeling. The students will work in a multicultural environment and in research laboratories with nationally-certified safety standards – ESPReL.
The student application process starts now until May 16, 2023. The three international programs include the Master of Engineering Program in Chemical Engineering (International), the Master of Engineering Program in Integrated Chemical Engineering (International) and the Ph.D. program in Integrated Chemical Engineering (international). Applicants may be considered for the 20 scholarships available to Thai and international students.
The Master of Engineering and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering programs also offer a double-degree program in collaboration with Osaka University. Double-degree graduates can pursue a Master’s degree in two years (one year in Thailand and one year in Osaka) and a Ph.D. in three to four years (one to two years in Thailand and two-three years in Osaka). The students will receive degrees from both Mahidol and Osaka Universities.
