Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific supports 160 needy Thai students’ education through EDF Foundation
Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd. provided through Education for Development Foundation (EDF Foundation) its second year educational support worth 1,000,000 baht (one million baht) to 160 needy students in nine schools and seven colleges of Chachoengsao province.
According to Mr. Martyn Perkins, executive director of Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific Ltd., “Giving back to the people and to the community is part of what makes us Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific. This is our second consecutive assistance to needy Thai students and we are truly happy to help 160 underprivileged Thai students, 80 junior high-school and 80 technical college levels students in Chachoengsao province get through their academic education.
“We, as a non-profit organization set up in Hong Kong in 2019, are responsible for projects in the fields of education, WASH (water, sanitation & hygiene) and emergency relief in countries where Knorr-Bremse operates, such as in Asia-Pacific region. In Thailand, Knorr-Bremse Commercial Vehicle Systems (Thailand) is located in Chachoengsao province and that is why we have provided scholarships to underprivileged students in the province.”
Mr. Perkins added, “We believe that education really equips people with the right tool to help improve their quality of life as well as meet challenges in life.”
“As a non-profit organization ourselves, EDF Foundation and Knorr-Bremse Global Care Asia Pacific share the same basic philosophy, such as assisting students in need. EDF is very happy working with them on their project,” said EDF Foundation managing director Mr. Sunphet Nilrat.
