Let’s give a cheer to KMUTT’s students representing Thailand in the final round of the global competition “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2021”
On March 31, 2021, the result of the World Final (Round 2) of “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2021”, the global software and technology development competition attended by more than ten thousand competitors from 163 countries worldwide, was announced through the website imaginecup.microsoft.com.
The youths from the King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) in the name of the “Threeotech” team as the representative of Thailand, won the Lifestyle category of the “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2021”, World Finals (Round 2), and entered into the semi-final round. The Team is required to develop the application to compete against the winners of the Earth, Education, and Healthcare categories in the World Championship round scheduled to be held at the end of this coming May.
The Threeotech team comprising of Mr. Jednipit Tantaletong, Mr. Suphakorn Zhang, and Mr. Tachawin Wiwattanasopa, the 4-year students of Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering of KMUTT has developed the “JustSigns”, the web application for automatic creation of sign languages for the media producers, by employing the Microsoft Azure, i.e., Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Database, Azure Static Web Apps, Azure Functions, Azure Active Directory B2C, and Azure Virtual Machines to assist the hearing impaired to be able to view the 3D motion picture accompanying with the original video and to access the various media more equivalently. Additionally, this not only helps the media producers to reduce the production cost in hiring the sign language interpreter, but also helps develop the standard of media production to be equipped with sign language extensively.
